Ein buntes Armband

Da hat ein junger Mensch wohl sein buntes Armband verloren!

So etwas trug ich auch in meinen jungen Jahren.

Das war einfach schick, schmückte und war nicht teuer.

Oder war das doch hier auf dem Blatt kein Schmuckstück?

Doch nicht. Eine Raupe!
Bunt, kunterbunt und recht eigenartig.
Und wie heisst das gute Stück?

  1. Oh, this is a fun caterpillar! We have one in the US that is in the same family. It looks a lot like this. I haven’t seen that one in many years. And the German word for a bracelet is Armband – that’s interesting! It says exactly what it is – a band around the arm – in English! So why do we say “bracelet” in English? I don’t know! We do say “armband” sometimes but not for jewelry, usually for a piece of cloth that is worn on the arm. Strange.
