Eine kleine Feldforschung am Efeu, was Insekten im Januar betrifft.

Das war, was ich fotografisch vorzeigbar gefunden hatte. Es zeigt sich gemeinhin sehr sehr wenig in den Hecken, aber immer wieder kriechen einzelne Tierchen heraus und nehmen am Leben teil.

You have to wait a decent time for one of those little creatures.
In my ignorance of the insect world, I used to think they were little bees. Almuth has helped to educate me, and you are doing it, too. I like that – the princesses of the flies. Nice. Little things like that help me remember. 😉
Some people tell me that they have seen bees like that in their garden.
Those flies have no sting and they absorb fluids inside a flower with a “vacuum cleaner”. There are a lot of hoverflies, just take a look if you like:

Wow, yes, lots of hoverflies and they don’t all have stripes like bees. 🙂 The insect world is vast, but disappearing before our eyes. I hope we’re not heading for disaster. Sorry to be depressing!
The well known insects keep flying, but the minorities of them have a difficult life. There are some flowers which are hosts for specialised insects.
I mean, at the end, do you only want to see honey bees in the garden?!
I have this passion for insects since 2017. I don’t know what it was like 10 yeas earlier.
What gives me hope is that we had some changes in politics recently.

Wir hatten eine Mäuseplage. Ich habe die Mäuse in Lebendfallen gefangen und in ein nahes Wäldchen exiliert. Die Plage wurde nicht weniger und ich hatte den Verdacht, dass alle wieder zurückkommen. Dann habe ich einige Mäuschen mit Farbe markiert und in der Tat, sie tauchten wieder auf. Darauf hin habe habe ich die Entferung auf fast 1 km erfolgreich vergrößert. Seitdem sind wir (nahezu) mäusefrei… 😉

You had a very successful photographic insect harvest. What is astounding is that it happened in January, usually the coldest month of the year.

Ja, es sind ganz vereinzelte, aber sie sind zumindest da.
Was zeigt, daß bei entspr. Gegebneheiten das Leben auf den Blättern offenbar nie aufhört. 🙂
Dir “hüpft” doch immer etwas vor die Linse.
