Gladly, Peter!
There is an object in front of our windowpane.
This object has small plates of colorless glass on its curved surface.
Now sunlight falls on this surface. The light is reflected, falling on the borders of the double glass and from there into the eye of the beholder.
Since the light hits two layers of glass, the reflection appears twice.
Sure, there is more to it, but I’ll let it go.
Thank you so much for the explanation of the phenomenon that had really puzzled me! Reflection and refraction of light and images are a fascinating subject for the photographer.
Could you reveal the mystery of this window to us, please?
